I don’t know about you, but I love my car.

It’s a milestone in my career; it’s the car I’ve always dreamed of but was never able to afford until now.

So, imagine my shock and fury to walk out of the grocery store one day to find a shopping cart up against the passenger side door, which left a scratch in my brand-new baby’s paint job!

[su_note note_color=”#f9e5e5″]Finding a scratch in your car is never a good moment, luckily most surface scratches are easy to buff out with a little magic formula. Take a look at our list of the best car scratch removers![/su_note]

1. Meguiar’s G17216 Ultimate Compound

[easyazon_image align=”right” height=”250″ identifier=”B011U4NM0Y” locale=”US” nw=”y” nf=”y” src=”” tag=”proudnest2-20″ width=”250″]This formula comes in a 15.2 oz. bottle, and has a 4.5-star rating on Amazon from customers.

There’s an extensive Question/Answer section that indicates excellent communication between the seller and the buyer.

It claims to remove oxidation, scratches, water spots, and blemishes without scratching, and can safely be used on clear coat or single stage paint.

It’s easy to use, too- just apply by hand and within minutes, you have a shiny, like-new paint job with no blemishes.

The price is a steal at approximately $8 per bottle, plus shipping.

I must say, this was my number one pick for best car scratch remover.

2. 3M 39087 Scratch and Scuff Removal Kit

[easyazon_image align=”right” height=”250″ identifier=”B00EM8944O” locale=”US” nw=”y” nf=”y” src=”” tag=”proudnest2-20″ width=”250″]Amazon awarded this product a 4.0-star rating. The price point is a little high at around $25 but shipping is free and the product is effective.

The response in Q/A to customers is quick and informative.

It claims to restore shine and remove scuff marks, and from the photos supplied by customers in reviews, it delivers on its promise. You can apply it by hand and it’s safe on clear coat.

It works especially well on headlights.

The most common complaint was the packaging as it is sent in a flexible package which could lead to the product drying up over time.

3. 3M 39071 Scratch Removal System

[easyazon_image align=”right” height=”250″ identifier=”B003NS5NK8″ locale=”US” nw=”y” nf=”y” src=”” tag=”proudnest2-20″ width=”250″]This scratch removal system has a 4.0-star rating on Amazon from its reviewers, which rank in the 400’s.

It also has good response in the Question and Answer section indicating good customer support.

It claims to take out light scratches and scuffs as well as polish to a good shine.

This is backed up by the reviews.

The application is a little more complicated as the other products as it’s a three-step approach, and it does have the issue of packaging that the 3M 390087 product has being contained in a plastic bag, which could lead to dry out.

The price point is approximately $22, with free shipping.

The few complaints it did get mentioned it did not work well with anything other than very light scratches nor did it work well with clear coat, but overall the product was reviewed as working as intended effectively.

4. Mothers 08408 California Gold Scratch Remover

[easyazon_image align=”right” height=”250″ identifier=”B0002U1TZS” locale=”US” nw=”y” nf=”y” src=”” tag=”proudnest2-20″ width=”250″]This car scratch remover comes in an 8-oz. bottle and has a 4.0-star rating on Amazon.

I’d have to say this would be my lowest rated choice on my top five list of best car scratch removers simply due to the sparse number of reviews, which do not give you as much of a rounded perspective as the other products.

However, the reviews it does have claim it is effective on slight scratches and scuffs but is not suitable for deeper scratches.

The seller also recommends that the product be sealed with a good waxing to preserve the durability of the product.

5. Barrett-Jackson Car Scratch Remover

[easyazon_image align=”right” height=”250″ identifier=”B011U4NM0Y” locale=”US” nw=”y” nf=”y” src=”” tag=”proudnest2-20″ width=”250″]Also available on Amazon, this product is available in an 8-oz. bottle, and has a 3.5 rating.

The reviews are largely positive with only the occasional complaint that the product needs to be reapplied after washing or rain.

It claims to fix fine scratches, swirls, and scuffs.

There are no tools required; this product can be applied by hand and is safe for clear coat.

The price point is reasonable for the product and its effectiveness at around $8 per bottle, plus shipping.

This is a mid-line product in my estimation and effective, if not permanent.

In closing, we all know the dismay and frustration of seeing scratches or scuffs on our brand-new cars. It’s good to do your research on the products you can purchase to repair these issues, as well as add shine and durability to that beautiful paint job on the car you worked so hard to obtain.

I hope these reviews helped you decide on the product you will choose to protect your baby from wear and tear, and keep your car looking as perfectly, brand new as the day you drove it off the showroom floor. Good luck to you!
